This seems to be the are I've gravitated into.

This Easter it was Wall to Wall tents in Car-free

There seems to be solid support for extending Car-free camping beyond
Tranquility ~ The Drug & Alcohol-free Quiet Space around Bliss Kitchen
Vegan, Wheat-free clean, well organised, recycling composting hot tub beach ...

I support the concept suggested to e a few years ago
'Cusp of Tranquility'
Car-free for those who enjoy more flexibility wine, a joint drumming ...

The area around the old Arts / First Aid /info has been suggested as suitable
Lots of trees below the road on the way to Gypsy / Market

This will require some Melbourne folk who wants to see this happen
Attending meetings at C.E.R.E.S. is how things are achieved.

I hope Skype will soon become a part of DTE meetings
Meanwhile is anyone willing to collaborate on this project with me?

Workshops are at the heart of ConFest. Many people go to experience workshops which are amazing and diverse. However for many people it is also a frustrating experience because workshops are hard to find, don't run on time and the workshops board gives poor information.
I would like to organise some volunteers to do improve the quality of the workshops.

The following positions would be within the 2hrs required by volunteers
1) Board Director. = sets up the boards with wide columns and clear headings
2) Time Lord = ensures each workshop has a working clock (we need to buy some more)
3) Map Maker = photographs the map each day and prints some off to give to people
4) Sign Assigner = puts out signs pointing to workshops.

I can probably get enough volunteers from Adelaide but would need permission from the committee and a budget for equipment. There seems to be a problem with the idea of printing maps. I just can't understand why it's an issue when so many people complain about getting lost.

I clearly remember that when I first registered on this website I ticked a box asking me if I wanted to receive email newsletters.

I presumed that all I needed to do was wait.

Now I have noticed that it is possible to send multiple emails to members of this forum and attach URL's for both images and websites in the email.

Doesn't this simply mean that anyone at all could send out their own personal newsletter to whoever they chose?

Yes, in fact it does.

Who knows, one day I may receive a newsletter from northern nsw and the next day there could be photos from queensland.

To send a message; Click on 'Compose'

click on 'show users to choose who to send to;

then here, to see the list of web site users you can send messages to...

click on the name of the person you wish to send to ... and type in your message.
don't forget to click on 'send'
(you can send to Multiple people, by separating the names with a comma)

I have been to Confest many times over the years and consistenly enjoyed it.

I went to Easter this year. The massage area was very loose.

I'd love to coordinate the massage area at the Easter Confest 2013.
I my vision there is a large dedicated marquee - a team of dedicated massagers - well equipped with oil and towels - a board to book massage or swap.

Who to I need to contact to create this vision?

Much Thanks to everyone who responded to the call for volunteers at the recent confest .

there were quite a few responses via the volunteer form, i must personally appologise for not replying to them all ... the system still needs some work to get it 100% right.
we will be making some changes soon to how this is done

the volunteer co-ordination team will need some 'new blood' .... interested?

there will be an on going need for people to assist with moving the confest site to a new location for new year ... there is a great need for some land care on the moulamien property right now. and some attention to maintenance of all the infrastructure and equipment on site

the next meeting will be thursday 3rd may, with luck some plans re; landcare and on site maintenance will be made.

the idea of "the big how-to confest" book (pdf) has been mentioned in a few conversations lately ...... the gate handbook is a great thing but there is info that needs to get to people before they arrive .... the pdf format could be much bigger and would be easy to distribute digitally, and also quite simple to print for those without net access. I'm happy to put it all together but would love it if the content came from a collective effort. I think that would be a more full expression of what confest is.

getting a list of section headings together is probably the first step,
please post your ideas below.
